Senior Pastor

Tim Simpson has been the Senior Pastor at Greenridge since 1992.  He and his wife, Carol, live in Damascus.  They have three sons, two daughters-in-law and two grandchildren.  Tim grew up in a pastor’s home and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1967.  He began to sense a call to the ministry as a high school student.  He was ordained by First Baptist Church, Waldorf, Maryland.

Tim graduated from Carson-Newman College and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.  He served at a church in Howard County for ten years before coming to Greenridge.

He serves as a Trustee with the International Mission Board of the SBC, has served as President of the Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware and helps with an interfaith advisory group for the County Executive.

His spiritual gifts are preaching, teaching and leadership.  One of the most rewarding parts of his life right now is leading a Bible study for neighbors. You can reach Pastor Tim by email at: tim@greenridgebaptist.org.

Mark loves talking theology, apologetics, fantasy, and sci-fi. Mark's wife, Christy, is a wonderful mom and a soon to be published author.  Their three-year-old daughter Michaela loves trains, trucks, and climbing at the park and their ten-month old daughter Angelina loves laughing, attempting new yoga poses, and chewing on everything.  You can reach Mark by email at: mbrunke@greenridgebaptist.org

He earned a Master of Arts and a Master of Theology (both in Old Testament) at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC, and he is currently pursuing a PhD in Semitic Languages and Literatures at the Catholic University of America in DC.
