Disciples Need
the Disciplines

Led by Pastor Paul Davis

We’ve all heard about the “spiritual disciplines,” right? Most of us could even name a few like praying, fasting, and giving. But, what are the disciplines for? What does God want to do in my life with the disciplines? What is the end result of a disciplined life? And if I wanted to begin doing a discipline, where would I start?

Join Pastor Paul for a study in how God, through the spiritual disciplines, has given us all the tools we need to grow in our walk with Christ. If you’re a disciple of Jesus, you need the spiritual disciplines.

Sundays @ 11:15 AM

The word "gospel" has two different meanings. We refer to the first four books of our New Testament (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John), which are mini-biographies of Jesus, as "the Gospels." But we also refer to the plan of salvation through faith in Christ as "the gospel." Much of what we know about "the gospel" (the plan of salvation) comes from the letters of the apostle Paul, rather than from "the four Gospels" themselves. This course will offer an overview of all the letters of Paul, with a special focus on how he describes "the gospel"--the plan of salvation through Jesus Christ.

The course is based on a 1994 book, "The Evangelical Essential," by Philip Janowsky, but the book is NOT required reading for the course.
